The Segway Navimow H5 Pro robotic lawnmower entices with perfect edge cutting and considers animals. It also impresses with its motor power

The equipment of robotic lawnmowers is constantly moving forward, and manufacturers annually introduce new technologies that help not only with faster mowing but also with easier tackling of steep slopes. Segway Navimow has now introduced the Navimow H5 Pro model at IFA 2026, which presents itself as a master of detail. It has managed to solve several shortcomings of common robotic lawnmowers, making it an excellent helper, especially for owners of complex properties. And what’s more, it considers animals.

No edge escapes the Segway Navimow H5 Pro lawnmower

The Segway Navimow H5 Pro comes with True Zero-edge Mowing technology, which allows for mowing right up to the edge of the lawn. This means it won’t leave behind a strip of uncut grass, as cheaper or less sophisticated models tend to do. 

The brand solved the problem very similarly to robotic vacuum cleaner manufacturers, who previously struggled with cleaning in room corners or along walls. The lawnmower is equipped with an EdgeMaestro arm that extends by 7.7 cm and, according to the manufacturer, allows it to function reliably in virtually any conditions. Not only does it reach into various gaps, but thanks to the Omnidirectional Floating Arm, the lawnmower can also adapt to height irregularities. In practice, this means that the cutting disc will always remain in contact with the ground, and the grass will be mowed evenly. 

Furthermore, the arm can cleverly avoid side obstacles, typically various pool protrusions or garden lighting. This prevents any damage from being caused by the activity of the extendable arm.

Segway is simply trying to eliminate as much manual labor as possible and wants the Segway Navimow H5 Pro to be able to mow 100% of the grass, not just most of it. While previously it was necessary to manually trim the lawn around flowerbeds, pools, curbs, garden seating, or any other obstacles, thanks to the latest innovations, you can simply watch the machine do it for you. Thanks to the cutting disc shield, which prevents grass from flying into the surroundings, you won’t even have to walk around and pick up debris.

It thinks beyond performance

The second feature that caught our attention is not related to performance. The 360° VisionFence system, which, along with the LiDAR sensor and satellite (NRTK) navigation, handles the lawnmower’s orientation in space, combines a classic camera with a thermal infrared sensor, allowing it to recognize certain types of objects even in poor lighting conditions. 

And what is that good for? As soon as the infrared sensor detects an animal in the mowing path, the Segway Navimow H5 Pro stops and replans its route. I like that the manufacturer thought about animals that commonly appear in our gardens. Navimow even directly partnered with the German hedgehog protection organization Igelhilfe Schulzendorf e.V.

Let’s stay with navigation for a moment. We were very impressed by how the lawnmower creates a detailed 3D map of the garden, which you can also customize yourself via the mobile application. Furthermore, thanks to LiDAR, the lawnmower can distinguish the length of grass in individual zones and plan when to mow which part of the garden accordingly.

Brute Force: Handles terrain and steep slopes

But now back to the brutal equipment. The Segway Navimow H5 Pro apparently doesn’t lag in any respect, and the manufacturer has also ensured that the lawnmower doesn’t lack brute force. The Xero-Turn motor drives all four wheels and can pull the lawnmower up a hill with an incline of up to 80% (38.6°). 

Furthermore, the rear wheels boast suspension, so they can handle uneven terrain. Segway also adds that the Navimow H5 Pro can handle obstacles up to 6 cm high, and potholes or gravel paths are reportedly not an issue. Two driving modes can be used – zero-radius turning for better lawn protection and “automotive” steering, which improves maneuverability. According to the roughly one-minute video showcasing the lawnmower’s individual features, the machine appears very agile. Segway simply knows how to handle terrain, and we described it ourselves in our review of the Navimow X450E model.

Last but not least, Segway boasts quiet operation. The noise level during edge mowing is reportedly only 58 dB(A), so the lawnmower won’t disturb you or your neighbors if you let it run late in the evening or in the early morning hours. 

Price and Availability

Segway Navimow has not yet revealed specific details regarding pricing and availability in individual markets, but the model is expected to go on sale sometime in spring 2027.

The new H5 Pro will almost certainly cost tens of thousands of Czech crowns, if it even reaches our market. Therefore, it will only make real sense for users who have a larger, complex property whose manual maintenance is difficult and tiring. For people with smaller gardens, some of the cheaper models, which do not require such a powerful motor or sophisticated wheel design, will be perfectly sufficient.
