RAM prices have soared to uncomfortable heights in recent months, and that’s where the magic of this inconspicuous little box lies. The Acemagic F1A now costs 16,191 Kč with code ALZADNY10 – and when you break down what’s inside, you’ll find you’re not paying much more than for the components themselves. A new PC you assemble yourself might be cheaper, but it won’t be this small.

Quick summary:
Good buy if you want a quiet and small computer for office work, multimedia, development, or as an always-on home server – and you appreciate 32 GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, which are not cheap today.
⚠️ Catch: the processor is from 2022 and only has integrated graphics, it’s better to clean install the pre-installed Windows, and after reinstallation, you’ll face annoying driver hunting.
💡 For 16,191 Kč, you get a surprisingly decent tiny computer that can handle work

What fits into a book-sized box

At its heart is the Intel Core i9-12900H – a mobile fourteen-core Alder Lake chip from 2022 with a frequency of up to 5 GHz. It’s not new, but it handles spreadsheets, video calls, multitasking, and general development with ease. Graphics are handled by the integrated Intel Iris Xe, which is more than sufficient for light work and 4K video, but gaming won’t be its strong suit. It can handle AAA titles at 720/1080p on low-medium settings, and less demanding games like Valorant even at 1080p with high fps. The main highlight is the equipment: 32 GB DDR4 (expandable up to 64 GB), a 1TB NVMe SSD, and a ready-to-use Windows 11 Pro license. At a time when a 32GB kit alone is approaching the five-thousand-crown mark, this combination is exceptionally favorable. Its small dimensions and low power consumption also make the F1A a suitable candidate for a home server or media center for a TV. Connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB-C, and several USB-A ports. Owners in reviews primarily highlight its quiet operation – it’s reportedly quieter than a gaming laptop even under full load.

Before you click buy

Let’s be fair, there are a few compromises. While the processor performs well, it’s a mobile chip four years after its debut, and the graphics are purely integrated – anyone who wants to game should look elsewhere. More attention should be paid to the software: with cheap Chinese mini PCs, it has repeatedly been an issue that pre-installed Windows may contain unwanted “add-ons”, and reviewers here recommend clean installing the system immediately after unboxing. However, after a clean installation, there’s the price of drivers – Windows won’t find many of them (especially Wi-Fi) on its own, and you’ll have to download a bulky package directly from Acemagic. And some might be bothered by the fan, which occasionally rattles.

It’s not a shiny new product or a gaming machine. But it is a surprisingly capable and quiet little box whose components alone would cost you almost as much today – and on top of that, you get a licensed Windows 11 Pro. For office work, for a TV, or as a continuously running home server, it still makes sense.

Mini PC instead of a classic desktop tower – would you take it, or do you want a full-sized tower with a dedicated graphics card?
