The weekend forecast promises tropical temperatures, and in a scorching apartment, it’s impossible to sleep or work. Not everyone has air conditioning at home, so the quickest relief remains a simple fan – and several of them are now on sale. If you don’t want to spend a long time choosing, opt for the model that most people have bought. The standing West Wind T570W has sold over 2,000 units and has 195 ratings with an average of 4.7 stars – the best rating among all five. Its main advantage is its quietness: a DC motor and ten-speed regulation mean that at lower speeds, you practically can’t hear the fan, so you can easily leave it running in the bedroom overnight. It can also tilt its head perpendicularly to the ceiling, simply circulating the air without blowing directly at you.

The price is good right now: with code ALZADNY20, you can buy it for 2,879 CZK instead of the usual 3,599 CZK, and it hasn’t been this low for a long time. There is one concession, however – when turned off, the display permanently shows zero, which can be disturbing at night for those who have the fan in their bedroom. A few owners also complain about a shorter power cable.

Why now?

Meteorologists are forecasting exceptionally high temperatures for the upcoming weekend. A warning from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) has been in effect since Wednesday, stating that a new temperature record for the Czech Republic could even be set on Sunday. The current record is 40.4 °C.

“On Friday, we expect maximums around 33 °C, and over the weekend, temperatures will mostly exceed 35 °C, occasionally reaching up to 40 °C in lowlands,” stated ČHMÚ. “In the South Moravian Region, due to warm and dry weather, a fire hazard warning is in effect until further notice,” it added.

This weekend, everyone will appreciate any form of cooling, especially those living in apartments without air conditioning. If you order a fan from Alza today, there’s still a chance it will arrive by Saturday.

Siguro JetPod L100W: the cheapest and it also heats

The compact desktop JetPod L100W has the lowest price – with code ALZADNY30, it costs 1,539 CZK instead of 2,399 CZK. For its small size, it offers a surprising amount: in addition to three cooling speeds, it also contains a heating element with a power input of 1,500 W, so you can use it all year round and sit by your desk with it in winter. The manufacturer states an airflow range of up to 8 meters, plus oscillation, a timer, and a remote control. Only a handful of customers have rated it so far, but they all praise it – small, quiet, and powerful. However, keep in mind that it is truly a desktop model, not a replacement for a large floor fan for an entire room.

Siguro Lumi P400W: biggest price drop and reading light

Here, the discount is the most significant of the entire five. The standing Lumi P400W dropped from 2,999 CZK to 1,559 CZK with code ALZADNY40, almost by half. A special feature is the integrated LED light with three brightness levels on the back of the head, which also serves as a reading lamp; it also has a power input of only 10 W, nine speeds, a swivel head, and a long three-meter cable.

However, the low price comes with a cost, and it’s fair to admit it. The Lumi has the weakest rating (3.7 out of 5) and the highest complaint rate of 11.48 percent among the five – the other four models remain low. Reviewers most often complain that the head only tilts to about 45 degrees, and the height is difficult to adjust by disassembling the stand. So, it’s an interesting purchase mainly due to the price and the light, not due to flawless craftsmanship.

Siguro AirSphere P450W: balanced quiet stand, display can be turned off

If the permanently lit display of the West Wind is an issue, the AirSphere P450W offers an elegant solution – the panel backlight can be completely turned off. Otherwise, it’s a balanced standing fan with a quiet motor, five speeds, and three modes, including a night mode that gradually reduces fan speed to avoid disturbing sleep. The manufacturer promises a range of up to 12 meters, so it can ventilate even a larger room, and you control it with a magnetic remote that attaches to the base. With code ALZADNY30, it costs 1,959 CZK instead of 2,799 CZK. It has few ratings so far, but they are generally positive; the only thing worth mentioning is its higher power consumption of 50 W compared to its more energy-efficient siblings.

Siguro 3D Air Luxury V750W: most equipped, but not air conditioning

The most expensive and best-equipped item in the selection targets those who want to ventilate a truly large space. The 3D Air Luxury V750W circulates air using 3D circulation technology in rooms up to 100 m², also heats in winter thanks to an element with a power input of up to 1,800 W, and visually resembles a designer piece of furniture. With code ALZADNY30, it costs 3,499 CZK instead of 4,999 CZK.

However, one misunderstanding needs to be clarified immediately, as many reviewers encounter it: the device cannot cool like air conditioning. The adjustable temperature of 15–35 °C applies only to heating, and if you set it below the room temperature, the fan simply turns off. So, it’s a powerful and smart fan with heating, not an air cooler – those expecting a real temperature reduction will be disappointed. It should be added that it also has the highest complaint rate among the four more reliable models, and some owners mention a plastic smell after the first start-up.
