Xiaomi is preparing Redmi Buds 8 headphones with decent ANC! They will likely cost under a thousand Home News Xiaomi has officially announced new Redmi Buds 8 wireless headphones with broadband ANC up to 50 dB Inside, an 11nm dynamic driver works, it supports Bluetooth 5.4 and features for finding lost earbuds The premiere will take place on April 21, 2026, in China alongside the Redmi K90 Max and notebooks with Panther Lake processors Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 19. 4. 2026 04:30 Advertisement Redmi is preparing several new products for the upcoming April event, and in addition to the K90 Max smartphone and notebooks with Intel Panther Lake processors, we will also see new wireless headphones. The Redmi Buds 8 are set to build on the successful line of affordable earbuds and bring features that only more expensive models had just a few years ago. Xiaomi is saving the complete specifications for the official presentation, but it has already revealed the most important points through a teaser. Active noise cancellation up to 50 dB Finding lost earbuds like AirPods Price not yet announced, premiere in a few days Active noise cancellation up to 50 dB The main draw of the Redmi Buds 8 will be active ambient noise cancellation. Xiaomi boasts an effectiveness of up to 50 dB in a broadband spectrum up to 4 kHz, which on paper is above average even among much more expensive headphones. In practice, of course, it’s a question of how these numbers will translate into a real environment – marketing laboratory values often have only a distant relationship with daily commutes on public transport or working in an open-plan office. The sound itself is to be handled by a dynamic driver with an 11nm diaphragm, which Xiaomi presents as “high-performance”. The manufacturer also emphasizes the ergonomics of the case designed for longer wear, so the Buds 8 should be suitable even for more sensitive ears. Finding lost earbuds like AirPods The second new feature worth noting is what Xiaomi calls “anti-loss”. Simply put, it’s similar to the Find My feature offered by Apple for its AirPods. If you forget one of the earbuds in a cafe or it falls out on a park bench, your phone will guide you back to its last known location. For headphones that will likely end up in the sub-thousand price category, this is a surprisingly useful feature that is certainly not yet standard for inexpensive models. Among other technical details, Xiaomi confirmed the presence of Bluetooth 5.4, which ensures a stable connection and lower power consumption. The headphones will arrive on the market in three color variants – black, white, and pink. Price not yet announced, premiere in a few days Xiaomi is currently keeping the specific price under wraps, but given Redmi’s position in the portfolio and the fact that the previous Redmi Buds 7 started below 200 yuan in China, something very similar can be expected. After conversion and including VAT, the Buds 8 could range somewhere between 700 and 1,000 crowns in Europe. The official presentation will take place on April 21, 2026, in China; Redmi models traditionally arrive in Europe with a delay of several months. Therefore, we will most likely have to wait until the second half of this year for availability on the Czech market.
