Xiaomi Pad 9 is coming to market soon. The tablet has passed certification, here's what we know about it

So far, mostly fragmented leaks have accumulated around the Xiaomi Pad 9 tablet – and they weren’t exactly encouraging, as we discussed in a separate article some time ago. However, the new device has now passed official certification, which turns some speculation into certainty: the battery will indeed grow, but the charging speed will remain at 45 watts, like its predecessor.

The tablet passed China’s mandatory 3C certification, which every device destined for the local market must undergo, in recent days. According to Notebookcheck, which captured the database entry, the document confirms a battery capacity of 9,720 mAh. This is an increase of approximately 520 mAh compared to the 9,200 mAh in last year’s Pad 8.

However, the manufacturer will include the same 45W charger as before with the larger cell. In practice, this means that the tablet will charge the slightly larger battery at roughly the same rate as before – so the brand is not planning any progress in charging speed.

What to expect from the rest of the features?

The certification revealed details about the battery and charging, but it remains silent on the rest of the features – and here we are still in the realm of speculation. According to current information, the basic Xiaomi Pad 9 should be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, the same processor as the previous model. The more powerful Pad 9 Pro version is expected to use the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

The repetition of an older chip in the base model caused some confusion among the first leaks. Coupled with a relatively modest battery increase and unchanged charging, the new device appears to be more of a cautious improvement than a true new generation. Neither the display nor the cameras have been officially confirmed; according to speculation, the tablet might stick with the proven panel from the previous series. Until Xiaomi officially unveils the new device, it’s wise to take all these details with a grain of salt.

When will the Xiaomi Pad 9 arrive?

Certification is usually one of the last steps before launch, so the unveiling is approaching. Both the Xiaomi Pad 9 and its Pro variant are expected to arrive alongside the Xiaomi 18 flagship series, no earlier than autumn 2026. As expected, the new device will debut first in China.

Whether the tablet will officially reach the Czech Republic has not yet been stated. Xiaomi has not announced the domestic price or date, so we will confirm the specific amount in Czech crowns closer to the start of sales. While some units of previous generations made their way to Europe with a delay, it’s not a certainty.
