In fast-paced shooters like Counter-Strike 2 or Valorant, milliseconds decide the outcome, and a monitor with a high refresh rate gives you a noticeably smoother image. Xiaomi has now started selling the 300Hz Redmi G25 2027 monitor in China, which converts to approximately 2,600 CZK. It is the successor to the model the company launched this spring.

Fast IPS panel with 300 Hz and 1 ms response time

According to Gizmochina, the monitor is built around a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels. The native 300 Hz refresh rate is complemented by a 1 ms (GtG) response time, so motion should remain sharp even during rapid turns. Full HD on such a small diagonal is not an issue and also has a practical advantage: you can squeeze 300 frames per second from your graphics card more easily than at higher resolutions.

AMD FreeSync Premium is designed to prevent screen tearing. Xiaomi has also added dynamic overdrive, which adjusts pixel response speed to the current frame rate. In the menu, you’ll find common gaming aids, including a custom crosshair, night mode, and a function that brightens dark areas without overexposing the rest of the image.

Covers 93% DCI-P3, HDR is mostly on paper

Given the price, the colors are surprising. Xiaomi states 100% sRGB coverage and 93% DCI-P3, so according to Notebookcheck, it will serve well not only for gaming but also for work and movies. Typical brightness is 400 nits and contrast is 1000:1.

Although the monitor has VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, this is the lowest tier of the standard, so don’t expect a true HDR experience from it. However, Xiaomi also thought about eye comfort: a hardware blue light filter with TÜV Rheinland certification, according to Xiaomi, will reduce its amount by up to 50%.

You’ll only get the full 300 Hz via DisplayPort

The biggest improvement over the April model Redmi G25 300Hz, which cost 749 yuan, is hidden at the back. Instead of one DisplayPort and one HDMI, you’ll now find two DisplayPorts 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0, and generic Adaptive Sync has been replaced by certified FreeSync Premium. However, be aware of one limitation: HDMI 2.0 stops at 240 Hz, so for the full refresh rate, you must connect your computer via DisplayPort. This won’t bother consoles, as they only support up to 120 Hz anyway.

Savings were made on the stand. It can only tilt the monitor within a range of −5 to +15°, and you cannot adjust the height or rotation. For more flexibility, you can opt for your own arm, as the monitor supports VESA 75 × 75 mm mounting.

Currently only sold in China

The Redmi G25 2027 is currently only sold through the Chinese e-shop JD.com. According to Notebookcheck, it might reach other markets, but Xiaomi has not yet announced a European price or release date.

Is Full HD resolution enough for gaming if you get 300 Hz with it?
