Alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro series phones, the Chinese brand also introduced the Watch S5 in a transparent edition at yesterday’s presentation. This is not a model with new features, but a collector’s item for those who want something on their wrist that they won’t easily see on a colleague in the office. However, only five thousand customers will be able to acquire them.

What do the transparent Xiaomi Watch S5 look like?

According to Xiaomi, the watch body is crafted from a single piece of Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0, which is said to excel in high hardness and scratch resistance. The central frame is entirely transparent, allowing light to pass through and refract freely, according to the manufacturer. The contrast is provided by a steel bezel with a brushed texture. The case diameter is 47 millimeters.

The official photos clearly show how this edition differs from the standard model. The watch features a red silicone strap with fine knurling, the transparent lugs bear the inscription Limited Edition, and both side buttons are adorned with red details. However, the main role is played by the watch face, which on the display imitates a mechanical movement with red gears. This is a digital animation, not actual mechanics. The overall design of the watch follows the transparent special edition of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series phones.

Price and Availability

Xiaomi is asking for 2,499 yuan for the transparent edition, which is approximately 9,700 Czech crowns including VAT. According to Chinese media, it is already on sale, but only in the domestic market. The manufacturer has not said whether the limited edition will come to Europe, and given the production run of five thousand units, it’s probably best not to count on it.

Meanwhile, the standard Xiaomi Watch S5 with a 46mm case has been available in the Czech Republic since May. It costs 4,199 CZK and offers a 1.48-inch AMOLED display, up to 21 days of battery life, and interchangeable bezels made of steel, ceramic, or carbon. For a price that is more than double when converted, you are primarily buying design and exclusivity.
