21-day battery life and titanium body. Huawei is preparing for the European launch of new watches

Huawei sent out invitations for a global premiere, which will take place on September 2nd in Munich under the slogan “Chase the Wild”. The company did not reveal specific products, but the timing and the slogan itself point in a clear direction – it will most likely be the international launch of the Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro, which debuted in China in early August.

Three weeks on a single charge, but with an asterisk

Battery life remains the main weapon. Huawei promises up to 21 days of operation, but this only applies if you turn off the always-on display – with it, the battery life drops to seven days. Even that is a decent number compared to the competition, but the difference is worth noting, as usually only the higher value appears in advertisements.

You’ll pay extra for the Pro mainly because of the material

The difference between the two models lies in their design and one feature. The Pro version relies on a titanium and ceramic body and is the only one that can measure ECG. The common features of both variants are otherwise identical: a round AMOLED display, GPS, NFC, skin temperature sensor, speaker, and microphone. So, whoever doesn’t need ECG and isn’t fixated on titanium will save money.

There are few hardware novelties

Let’s be honest – compared to the Watch GT 6 generation, very little changes on the technical side. The main shift is expected in software, specifically with improved modes for skiing and cycling. For owners of the previous model, this is not a reason to upgrade, but for newcomers, it doesn’t change the fact that these are well-made watches with exceptional battery life.

Additionally, laptops may also appear at the Munich event. The MateBook Pro S is in play, weighing only 798 grams and offering a 14.2-inch OLED display with a 3:2 aspect ratio – a machine for those who travel a lot. However, the performance of the HiSilicon processor will mean a compromise.
