A bunch of Apple news leaked! An improved iPad mini will be introduced, as well as a new HomePod and Apple TV

Apple has had a busy September with iPhones, new watches, and headphones, and apparently isn’t done yet. MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris found in Apple’s code official images of three other devices: a new iPad mini, HomePod mini 2, and Apple TV 4K. These are not renders from speculators, but files directly from Apple. This usually means a launch is near.

iPad mini to get iPhone 18 Pro performance

The most significant new feature is the iPad mini. According to the code, it will receive an A20 Pro chip, the same generation as the iPhone 18 Pro. The front camera will move to the longer side, making the mini the last iPad to switch to landscape video calls. There’s a new cutout in the upper part of the glass, likely for a speaker. This aligns with earlier reports from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg about a completely new speaker based on vibrations and water resistance. The images only show the front, so we don’t know much about the rest of the design.

According to earlier leaks, the iPad mini will also get an OLED display with a slightly larger diagonal. This is not confirmed in the code, but its mass production reportedly began in June. Whether it will also feature the 120 Hz refresh rate that fans have been calling for for years is still unknown.

HomePod mini after six years

The current HomePod mini has been on the market since 2020. According to the images, its successor will retain the same round shape but will arrive in five colors: green, pink, blue, white, and black. Inside, a new chip and support for a new AI-powered Siri are expected. However, for Czech interested parties, the same limitation applies as before: Apple does not officially sell HomePod in the Czech Republic, and Siri does not speak Czech.

Apple TV: same box, new internals

The code mentions Apple TV 4K (4th generation), the first new Apple TV in four years. The external appearance remains the same. Inside, according to earlier leaks, an A17 Pro chip or newer, 8 GB RAM, an N1 wireless chip with Wi-Fi 7, and a new controller are expected. However, the code leak does not confirm specific parameters.

October is traditionally a month for smaller new releases for Apple, and Gurman expects the iPad mini by the end of the month. Apple has not yet announced any event, so the new products might simply be introduced via a press release.
