A slow TV doesn't have to go to the scrap heap. A Google TV stick is now at a pleasant discount

The TV picture is still good, but opening an app takes forever. Because of this, there’s no need to change the entire television. The Strong LEAP-NOVA plugs into HDMI and adds its own Google TV environment with apps. Alza is now selling the stick for 1,749 CZK without a discount code. It’s particularly interesting for households that want to continue using their existing screen but find its smart features no longer sufficient.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense for: Streaming applications on an older TV or monitor with HDMI. You don’t need to change the panel.
⚠️ Consider: USB-C is for power, you cannot directly connect a disk with movies.
💡 For 1,749 CZK, you also get a remote control, power supply, and a short HDMI extension.

Apps in one place and three custom shortcuts

Google TV runs on Android 14, and 32GB of storage is available for app installation. This leaves space in the small stick for several different streaming services. Connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 6, and the picture can have up to 4K resolution with Dolby Vision or HDR10+. However, you will only utilize these options with corresponding content and a compatible TV; a Full HD panel will not become a 4K screen.

In addition to apps like Netflix, Disney+, or HBO Max, Google Cast is useful for sending content from compatible applications. A nice detail of the remote control is that you can customize three buttons and assign your favorite apps to them. This way, you don’t have to navigate through the entire home screen every time.

On the other hand, there’s no place to plug in an external hard drive or flash drive. The package includes a short HDMI extension, which helps if the stick doesn’t fit directly behind the TV. A power adapter is also included, so you don’t have to buy additional accessories.

The LEAP-NOVA is in stock at Alza for 1,749 CZK. We verified the same model at BScom for 1,959 CZK, which is 210 CZK more before shipping costs.

Do you use the system directly in your TV, or do you prefer a separate player?
