At the beginning of the month, we informed you about the global launch of the new addition to Xiaomi’s family of most affordable smartphones. The Redmi A7 Pro is now surprisingly quickly making its way to the Czech market, and you can already find the new device at some retailers. While the official launch for our market will likely still take place, thanks to available data, we know the recommended price and approximate availability date.

Giant display, weaker resolution

The Redmi A7 Pro primarily impresses with its 6.9″ LCD display, which is among the largest in this price range. It offers a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling through social media or apps feel smoother. The maximum brightness reaches 800 nits in HBM mode, meaning the screen content will be readable even in direct sunlight.

While the front side cannot boast a modern punch-hole for the selfie camera, given the price, it’s hard to expect miracles. On the other hand, the triple TÜV Rheinland certification for blue light and flicker protection is a welcome feature, as is the support for controlling the display with wet fingers thanks to Wet Touch 2.0 technology.

Two-day battery life, but slow charging

The main draw of the Redmi A7 Pro is undoubtedly its 6,000mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, should provide users with up to 2.37 days of normal use. Xiaomi further states 49 hours of calls, 35 hours of video playback, or 77 hours of music. Unfortunately, it’s clear that such a massive cell won’t charge at rocket speed – the manufacturer only provided it with 15W charging.

Under the hood lies an octa-core Unisoc T7250 chipset manufactured with a 12nm process, which achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score of around 397,000 points. The phone is accompanied by 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The Redmi A7 Pro is not suitable for demanding games or more sophisticated multitasking, but it will suffice for casual internet browsing, social media, and communication.

One of the first phones with HyperOS 3

It’s worth noting that the Redmi A7 Pro is among the first devices with pre-installed HyperOS 3, the latest generation of Xiaomi’s overlay. The system brings with it a number of improvements, including features such as HyperIsland, inspired by the Dynamic Island from iPhones, and improved connectivity with other Xiaomi devices via Xiaomi Interconnectivity.

The manufacturer states 48 months of software support for the phone, which is intended to ensure system fluidity even after years of use. AI features such as Google Gemini assistant, Circle to Search for finding objects directly from the screen, and AI Sky for editing the sky in photos will also be present.

Modest camera setup and other specifications

From a photographic standpoint, don’t expect any great works of art from the Redmi A7 Pro. On the back, there is a 13Mpx main camera with an f/2.2 aperture, complemented by an auxiliary sensor. The selfie camera relies on an 8Mpx resolution. Both cameras record video at a maximum of Full HD at 30 frames per second.

Other specifications include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, a 3.5mm jack for headphones, a microSD card slot, and NFC support. The phone weighs 208 grams and has a thickness of 8.15 mm. It is available in four colors: Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange. The absence of 5G connectivity can be expected given the price tag.

Price and availability in Czechia

The Redmi A7 Pro is starting to appear in the offerings of some retailers in Czechia, with the recommended price for the 4 + 64 GB variant being 2,990 CZK. Given that the official launch by Xiaomi’s Czech representation will likely still take place, it can be assumed that the offer will expand further in the near future. Whether the manufacturer will bring the improved 128GB configuration to us is not yet clear.

The Redmi A7 Pro is suitable for those who prioritize battery life and display size over performance or camera quality. Less demanding users who will primarily use the phone for calls, messages, and occasional social media browsing should be satisfied with the new device. However, more demanding users looking for a camera phone or a gaming phone should opt for a different model even in this price range.
