When Rockstar doesn’t announce something, the internet somehow announces it for them. Before the launch of GTA 6 pre-orders, which according to Best Buy leaks are set to start on May 18th, another batch of information from insider sources has emerged. This time, it concerns how many editions of the game will be released, how much we’ll pay for them, and when we’ll finally see the long-awaited third trailer. Spoiler: if the leak is true, we might see Trailer 3 this weekend.

The source is insider Detective Seeds, who has shared several accurate pieces of information about the game’s development in recent months. His source was also the first to hint at the May 18th date for pre-order launch, so players in the community view him with relative trust.

Six Editions, Two of Them Specifically for Pro Consoles

According to Detective Seeds, GTA 6 will be sold in six different editions. The breakdown looks roughly like this: three digital/physical variants with increasing features, one rarer edition with extra premium items, and two versions specifically designed for consoles — one for PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X, the other for standard models.

One detail is worth noting: console bundle packs will not include a physical copy of the game. Only a digital code. This is a trend the gaming industry has been pushing for a few years — bundling a game console with a game without a disc in the box. For players who like to collect or sell games, this is not good news.

The price tag is another chapter. Detective Seeds states a range of 60 to 80 dollars, but adds that he cannot share the exact price due to “market impact.” Previous leaks spoke directly of 80 dollars, which would represent another shift in the normalization of more expensive AAA titles. And for top editions, prices around 100 dollars can be expected, which for a Czech player translates to well over 2,300 crowns for the game.

Trailer 3 Possibly Within Hours

The more interesting part of the leak concerns marketing timing. Detective Seeds wrote in response to comments that a new trailer will be released before pre-orders launch. If pre-orders start on May 18th, then the window for Trailer 3 is either May 16th or May 17th. That is, today or tomorrow.

Trailer 2 was released on May 6, 2025, which led to the logical expectation that the third one would arrive exactly a year later, on May 6, 2026. That didn’t happen, and fans have been waiting for anything since. Long-standing speculation pointed to Rockstar releasing a trailer just before parent company Take-Two’s earnings call, which takes place on May 21st. This makes marketing sense — a fresh trailer before the release of financial results would undoubtedly have a positive impact on stock prices.

Will you pay 80 dollars for GTA 6, or will you wait for discounts?
