Garden camera without a socket: EZVIZ with a solar panel costs 2,099 CZK with code

You don’t need to run electricity to your garden shed or yard for a camera. The EZVIZ HB8C Lite 4MP has its own battery, and this kit also includes a solar panel for charging it. On Alza, it costs 2,099 CZK with code ALZADNY15 and is in stock. What’s interesting is not just the power supply: the rotating head can track a moving person or vehicle.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense for: Monitoring an entrance or driveway, where you can use person and car recognition and the ability to speak through the camera.
⚠️ Consider: you need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at the location and a suitable sunny spot for the panel. Solar charging does not guarantee year-round operation without intervention.
💡 You can save recordings to a microSD card up to 512 GB. Prepare the card separately, it is not included in the mentioned kit contents. Cloud storage is a paid alternative.

Camera points to the yard, panel can be angled towards the sun

The kit includes a 5W solar panel, and the camera has a 5,200 mAh battery. A practical detail is the three-meter connecting cable and an adjustable panel holder. This way, you can aim the lens at the monitored area while placing the panel where it receives direct sunlight. You don’t have to subordinate its position to the direction of the shot.

When choosing a location, consider shade and weaker winter sun. How much energy the panel replenishes and how long the battery lasts depends on the conditions and frequency of recordings. During prolonged bad weather, the camera may need to be recharged manually.

Time-lapse between events, regular video on motion

Always-On Video mode records events even outside of triggered motion alarms. However, it’s not continuous regular video: when idle, the camera captures the scene at set intervals, creating a time-lapse. During a significant event, such as human movement, it switches to classic recording. The purpose is to maintain an overview of changes on the property without burdening the battery with constant full-fledged recording.

The head moves within a range of 340° horizontally and 80° vertically. The camera can automatically track people and vehicles, and you can adjust the detection area as needed. Object recognition is intended to reduce alerts triggered by leaves or insects. When monitoring the yard, you don’t have to react to every movement in the image.
