We wrote last week, based on a leak, that the Redmi Note 17 series would go beyond China’s borders in August. Now the brand itself has confirmed the date, and it’s spot on: the new devices will be shown for the first time on August 6 in India.

Xiaomi has launched a teaser page on its Indian website with a countdown to the premiere. The phone is featured under the name Redmi Note 17 5G, and the entire campaign revolves around a single number – the company calls it the “mAhster Edition” and teases an 8000 mAh battery. The new device is shown in light blue and purple colors in the teasers.

The manufacturer is broadcasting the presentation live, starting at noon Indian time. In addition to the base model, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is also expected to be shown in India, according to GSMArena. When the phones will actually go on sale has not yet been officially announced – the leak we based our previous report on mentioned August 11.

In China, the series launched in mid-July, and the base model is generously equipped for a mid-range device. It offers a seven-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 1800 nits, with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip handling performance. The camera setup remains simple: a 50Mpx main sensor on the back and an eight-megapixel camera on the front.

However, the main draw is power. The 8000 mAh battery charges with 45W charging, and the phone also features NFC, an infrared port, and a microSD card slot. Meanwhile, the Indian version was revealed by a Geekbench benchmark: it is expected to run with 8 GB of RAM and Android 16, likely under the HyperOS 3 overlay. In its home market, the base model starts at roughly 4,100 CZK (1,299 yuan) converted.

How is the Redmi Note 17 Pro ahead?

The more expensive Redmi Note 17 Pro raises the bar in practically every aspect. Inside, a more powerful Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 ticks, the display has grown to 6.83 inches and shines up to 3500 nits at its peak. The Chinese variant also adds an even larger 9000 mAh battery with 67W charging and IP69K resistance.

However, some parameters are likely to change for versions intended for international markets. According to earlier leaks, the Pro model outside China should get a slightly smaller battery of around 8340 mAh and also appear in memory combinations of 6/128 GB and 4/64 GB. Specifically, 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage would seem very meager for 2026.

When will the new devices arrive in the Czech Republic?

The August 6 date applies only to India for now, and models there typically differ from European ones – with different memory, different chips, and sometimes even battery capacity. The global variant, which usually arrives several weeks later, is headed to the Czech Republic. No specific local date or price has been confirmed yet, but the Redmi Note series traditionally makes its way to Czech shelves, so a European version is highly probable.
