Leaks surrounding the next generation of Samsung are increasing, and perhaps the most concrete technical leak has just emerged. The two most expensive models, Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra, have passed Chinese 3C certification, which hinted at the battery sizes and charging speeds the phones will receive. For endurance fans, this is welcome news – the Ultra series is set to increase its capacity after years.

Galaxy S27 Ultra finally surpasses the 5,000mAh mark

Battery cells for both phones have appeared in the 3C database, and the numbers look promising. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to have a battery with a rating of 5,534 mAh, which usually translates to an advertised capacity of around 5,700 mAh in the finished phone. This would be 700 mAh more than this year’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, which remained at 5,000 mAh.

We wrote about the S27 series batteries a few weeks ago: a leak emerged, according to which Samsung was even testing a prototype with a capacity of over 7,000 mAh, but ultimately decided against it. The new certification essentially confirms this more cautious scenario – the Ultra series is not even close to the massive numbers from China yet.

Samsung’s top model has stuck to the 5,000 mAh mark since the Galaxy S21 Ultra in 2021, while Chinese competitors commonly pack significantly more into their flagships. The cheaper Galaxy S27 Pro is certified to offer a cell with a rating of 5,087 mAh, which is roughly 5,200 mAh in advertised form – so even the smaller of the two is reportedly set to surpass the current Ultra.

The Pro model will also get 60W charging support

The certification also shed light on charging, and it seems not much is changing here. Both models are expected to handle 60W wired charging (20 V / 3 A) – thus, they should deliver the same performance as this year’s Galaxy S26 Ultra. It’s certainly not a record, but for the Pro model, it’s good news, as 60W wasn’t a given for it beforehand.

Compared to their basic siblings, both of the most expensive new models perform better. The base Galaxy S27, according to an earlier 3C record, is expected to settle for just 25W, while the Plus version will have 45W. The phones appeared in the database under model numbers SM-S957 (Pro) and SM-S958 (Ultra), and their unveiling is expected in early 2027.

However, before we start celebrating, we would like to remind you that this is still just Chinese certification, not official specifications. Samsung will confirm the final capacities and actual endurance only upon launch – until then, take the numbers with a grain of salt.
