These Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices are likely to get HyperOS 4. Is yours on the list?

Every time a major system update appears on the horizon, Xiaomi phone owners face the same question: will my device still get it, or has the manufacturer cut me off? With the approaching Android 17 and the new HyperOS 4 overlay, this question is back on the table. Xiaomi has not yet released an official list of supported devices, so foreign servers are creating their own lists. Mostly, they derive these from the update policy of individual models.

Xiaomi remains silent for now, the list is unofficial

First, it’s important to emphasize one thing: Xiaomi has only officially confirmed so far that it is preparing a new generation of its system. The designation HyperOS 4 itself has not yet been uttered by the manufacturer, but it emerged from leaks and an accidentally published error message. There are even speculations that the company might rename the overlay. So, we don’t even have certainty about the name.

Since no official list is available, the server Gizmochina reportedly went through the update policy of each device separately and included only those models it was certain about. As we will detail below, it is indeed stricter in many respects compared to other sources.

Lists differ across websites

Gizmochina is one of the strictest sources, which is why its list differs from others. This is most noticeable with the Xiaomi 13 series. The base models 13, 13 Pro, and 13 Ultra are missing from Gizmochina’s list because, according to them, official support for Android 17 has already expired for these phones. Other websites, namely Huawei Central and Xiaomi Planet, still list them. So, if you have an older 2023 flagship at home, the hope for a major update depends on which source you currently trust.

It’s also crucial to know that the presence of a phone on the list does not mean it will receive the update immediately upon release. Xiaomi rolls out new versions in waves. First, users in China receive the update, then global models, and finally the European EEA edition (which includes models sold in our region), so the same model might get HyperOS 4 weeks earlier in one country than in another.

Furthermore, exclusion from the list of Android 17 candidates may not be the absolute end. Xiaomi often sends new versions of the overlay even to models that are no longer eligible for the new Android.

When will HyperOS 4 arrive?

Xiaomi President Lu Weibing stated that the company will unveil the new generation of the system as early as July or August 2026. However, this refers to the announcement itself, not the widespread rollout of the update to phones.

From leaks, we only know fragments of what HyperOS 4 will bring. There’s talk of a redesigned look, deeper collaboration with the Leica color palette, or a response to the Privacy Display feature introduced by the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
