Xiaomi has a hot new product for households. Every wine lover will appreciate the electric corkscrew

Mijia, Xiaomi‘s home equipment brand, is adding one small appliance after another, and after smart fans and curtains, it now comes with an electric wine corkscrew. It addresses a situation you probably know from your own kitchen: instead of prying and struggling with a crumbling cork, simply place the opener on the bottle neck and press a button. The new Mijia Electric Wine Opener has appeared on the manufacturer’s global website, which for similar products is usually the first signal of an upcoming expansion to international markets.

Cork out in 10 seconds

The entire operation relies on two buttons. The first button extracts the cork from the neck, and the second ejects it from the mechanism, so you don’t have to remove it manually. Xiaomi states that opening takes approximately 8 to 10 seconds and that there is a lower risk of breaking or crumbling the cork. However, these values come from the manufacturer’s internal testing, so take them as indicative. According to Xiaomi, the operation should also be quiet.

The body also includes an integrated foil cutter. Before opening, you rotate it around the bottle neck, remove the protective foil, and only then attach the opener and press the button.

What powers the mechanism?

An electric corkscrew is mainly a matter of convenience. If you open wine a few times a year, a classic lever corkscrew for a few crowns can do the same and won’t take up space in a drawer. It makes more sense for someone who opens more bottles, who lacks the hand strength for regular corkscrews, or who likes to supplement their household with other Xiaomi devices.

Whether the Mijia Electric Wine Opener will come to the Czech Republic is not yet clear. Xiaomi has recently brought many products under the Mijia line to our market that are not necessarily smart, so there is a chance. However, the manufacturer has not announced an official date or price.
