Xiaomi is expanding its Mijia kitchen line with a piece that combines an electric kettle, water filtration, and a disinfectant storage for cups into one body. The station, named Mijia Smart Tea Bar Machine Pro, can serve hot water within seconds and also takes care of the cleanliness of your dishes between sips.

It handles hot water in three seconds

Xiaomi equipped the device with two spouts – the left one serves instant hot water, the right one is reserved for brewing tea. You can choose from five temperature levels and four dose sizes, allowing you to adjust the water differently for green tea and for your morning instant coffee. Everything is controlled via a 2.8-inch color touchscreen, or by voice through the Xiao Ai assistant. The package includes a 1.2-liter brewing pot and a so-called sharing pot for pouring.

Why does it have its own disinfection chamber?

This is where the new product distinguishes itself from ordinary water dispensers. Built into the body is a ten-liter disinfection and storage compartment that can hold eight to fifteen cups or tea utensils. The space utilizes deep UVC sterilization – Xiaomi states an efficiency of 99.99 percent, which is, however, a laboratory figure from the manufacturer that we cannot independently verify.

To prevent moisture and mold from accumulating in the enclosed space, the manufacturer also adds hot air drying. Heated air at 70 °C quickly dries the dishes, and the entire sterilization and drying cycle can be started by touching the display or with a voice command. In practice, this means you don’t have to wipe cups with a cloth or leave them to dry on a dish rack.

Price and availability

The Mijia Smart Tea Bar Machine Pro launched via crowdfunding on the Xiaomi Youpin platform for 1,099 yuan, which is approximately 3,450 CZK. For now, it’s purely a Chinese affair – the manufacturer has not specified if or when the station will appear on the European market, so it is not officially heading to the Czech Republic yet.
