Xiaomi leaked two new watches. They will offer a huge display and calling for a steal.

The range of available smartwatches from Redmi is set to expand soon. Even before the manufacturer officially announced anything, two upcoming models – Redmi Watch 6 Active and Redmi Watch 6 Lite – have leaked to the public. Both follow on from the basic Watch 6, which you can already buy in the Czech Republic, and each targets a slightly different user.

How do the new models differ from Redmi Watch 6?

The basic Redmi Watch 6 have been sold in our country since spring – they offer a 2.07″ AMOLED display, a 550 mAh battery, and according to the manufacturer, up to 24 days of battery life on a single charge. The new pair is expected to be a category lower: the models will receive smaller displays, slightly more modest features, and most importantly, a lower price.

The specifications, official-looking renders, and European prices of both watches were published by 91mobiles in collaboration with leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore. The difference between the models is clear at first glance: only the more expensive Lite will get built-in GPS and a speaker.

Redmi Watch 6 Active: the cheapest in the entire series

The Redmi Watch 6 Active are expected to be the more affordable of the pair. According to the leak, they will feature a 1.85″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 390 × 450 pixels and a 470mAh battery (the already released Redmi Watch 6, meanwhile, have a 550mAh cell). It should also include Bluetooth 5.3 with the ability to make calls directly from the watch, over 140 sports modes, and the usual set of sensors – heart rate measurement, blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), sleep tracking, steps, calories, and distance. They can be paired with both Android and iPhone via the Mi Fitness app.

However, the low price comes with trade-offs elsewhere. According to current information, the Active will not receive built-in GPS or a speaker – so you won’t be able to track your exact running route without a connected phone. The price is expected to start around 50 euros, which is approximately 1,250 CZK (converted), and there should be three color variants to choose from.

Redmi Watch 6 Lite: more than just a larger display for a premium

The more expensive Redmi Watch 6 Lite targets more active users. They will offer a larger 1.96″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 410 × 502 pixels and, crucially, what the Active lacks – built-in GPS, a nine-axis motion sensor, and its own speaker. This allows them to record running or cycling routes even without a phone in your pocket.

Interestingly, despite the larger display, the battery capacity remains the same 470 mAh as the cheaper model – so the battery life will likely be slightly shorter, but this is just our estimate for now. According to the leak, the Lite will be available in two colors, black and silver, and are expected to cost around 60 euros, which is approximately 1,500 CZK (converted).

When Redmi will officially unveil both models and whether they will reach the Czech market is not yet clear. However, given that the basic Watch 6 are commonly sold here, the arrival of their cheaper siblings is probable.
