Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is officially here. The giant tablet offers an XRING O3 chip and a huge battery, you can also use it as a monitor

Along with the foldable 18 Fold, a new tablet was also introduced. The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is aimed not only at professionals but essentially at anyone who wants the largest possible area for work and entertainment, and for the first time in a large tablet, it relies on its own XRING O3 chip. It also impresses with a gigantic battery with fast charging and the presence of eight speakers.

Display: 13.3 inches and 3.4K resolution

The core of the entire device is a 13.3″ screen with a resolution of 3408 × 2272 pixels, which Xiaomi presents as 3.4K. The panel supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz and is an LCD with brightness up to 1000 nits. The unusual 3:2 aspect ratio provides more vertical space – it’s more suitable for documents, web browsing, and notes than for watching movies.

The manufacturer emphasizes a professional color mode and color matching across multiple screens for the display, making it suitable for photo or video editing. As usual, these are manufacturer claims that will only be verified by reviews in practice.

Inside beats the proprietary XRING O3 chipset

The heart of the tablet is the proprietary XRING O3 chip – the same one Xiaomi used in the foldable 18 Fold. The processor combines ten powerful cores with G2-Ultra NX graphics and, according to the manufacturer, achieves over 5.61 million points in AnTuTu. Compared to the older XRING O1, the company promises 54% higher multi-core CPU performance and 85% faster graphics, although these are the manufacturer’s own figures, which we cannot independently verify.

Customers can choose from variants with 8, 12, or 16 GB of memory and storage of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. The tablet runs on Android 17 with the HyperOS 4 overlay, which is designed to handle multiple applications simultaneously and offers several AI-powered features.

A 12,000 mAh battery is housed inside, complemented by 120W wired charging. The tablet also supports reverse charging – 27W via cable and 45W via pogo pins for accessories. Connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 7, sound by eight speakers, and calls by six microphones.

For the very first time in its tablet, Xiaomi has implemented a DP-in input: you can feed video from another device into it via a full-featured USB-C cable, up to 3.4K resolution at 120 Hz. This turns the tablet into an external monitor for, say, a laptop or a gaming console. Photographers will appreciate the 50Mpx rear camera with optical stabilization and a 32Mpx front camera. The tablet weighs 645 grams, with the matte variant being eight grams heavier.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is sold in black, silver, and red, with the matte glass finish reserved only for the red variant. The prices are as follows:

• 12/256 GB – approximately 16,400 CZK (5,299 yuan)
• 16/256 GB – approximately 18,000 CZK (5,799 yuan)

• 16/512 GB – approximately 20,500 CZK (6,599 yuan)
• matte version 16/512 GB – approximately 21,400 CZK (6,899 yuan)
• matte version 16 GB/1 TB – approximately 24,500 CZK (7,899 yuan)

Whether the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max will be released outside of China has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer. While the manufacturer does import some of its tablets to us, it’s usually only the basic model and the Pro version, with any better variants typically being exclusive to the domestic market.
