The upcoming summer months invite trips to cottages, camping, and garden gatherings, and it’s usually there that you encounter the problem of unpleasantly hot air. Regular fans won’t help much in such situations because you can’t just plug them in far from an outlet. Xiaomi considered this with its latest model, which, by the way, boasts a pair of prestigious design awards. The new product, designated Mijia Smart Standing Fan Pro Slim, is also coming to the Czech market, with a quite reasonable price tag of 2,999 CZK.

Ultra-thin design and award-winning construction

The biggest draw of the fan is its head with a thickness of just 8.7 cm. Xiaomi states that this is 63% slimmer construction compared to the previous Mi Smart Standing Fan 2 model, which was 23.9 cm at its thickest point. The minimalist design was recognized by judges with two renowned awards – the fan received both the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award for 2025. Stability is ensured by a 3 mm thick metal base, which prevents tipping even on smoother surfaces.

A pleasant bonus is the modular design. The fan can be easily disassembled and stored in the supplied sturdy EPP material case, and it can even withstand transport in a car trunk. You can use it for seasonal storage during winter months, as well as when you want to take the fan to a cottage, for example.

Power bank charging makes the fan a travel companion

What truly sets the Mijia Smart Standing Fan Pro Slim apart from the competition is its universal USB-C port for power supply. The package includes an 18W wall adapter, but the fan also works with any power bank featuring QC or PD protocol and a minimum output of 18 W (9 V or 12 V). If the power bank does not meet these parameters, you will be limited – for example, in Direct mode, only two speed levels will be available, and the natural breeze mode will not run at all.

The manufacturer states that with a 10,000mAh Mi Wireless Power Bank Essential, the fan can operate at the lowest level without oscillation for up to 22 hours. This is an interesting figure for multi-day camping or situations where no electrical outlet is available nearby. Consumption at this level is truly minimal – just 1.9 W. According to the manufacturer, 90 days of eight-hour daily use would consume only 1.4 kWh of electricity.

Seven blades, eight breeze modes, and a 14-meter range

The fan uses seven aerodynamically shaped blades that together generate an airflow of up to 25 m³/min with a range of 14 meters. Horizontal oscillation is set to 90° by default, but it can be narrowed to 30° or 60° via the Xiaomi Home app. The fan head can also be tilted up to 90° upwards, which facilitates air circulation in larger spaces.

In the app, you will find eight preset natural breeze modes, which Xiaomi created based on long-term measurements of airflow in various environments. You can choose modes simulating a breeze by a lake, on a golf course, while camping, on a terrace, rooftop, in a wetland, on a mountain peak, or on a beach. In Direct mode, you have 100 speed levels available for fine-tuning the intensity. The manufacturer states the noise level at the lowest setting to be 26.8 dB(A), which should not disturb sleep.

Bluetooth controller, smart home, and practical details

You can control the fan in several ways. Directly on the body, you’ll find touch buttons with four preset speeds, corresponding to levels 1, 35, 70, and 100 in the app. There’s also a Bluetooth remote control with a range of up to 30 meters, which magnetically attaches directly to the fan – so you always have it at hand and it won’t be lying around the room. This will be a practical solution especially outdoors, where you’ll appreciate not having to walk up to the fan every time.

The fan, of course, connects to the Xiaomi Home app, where you can create your own airflow curve or schedule automatic on/off. There’s also integration with Google Home and Amazon Alexa for voice control. Practical details worth mentioning include a child lock for the safety of the youngest household members and a removable front cover, which facilitates maintenance and cleaning of the blades.

Price and availability in the Czech Republic

The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Standing Fan Pro Slim is currently available in the Czech Republic at the authorized mistore.cz for 2,999 CZK, and it is in stock with free shipping via Zásilkovna provided by the seller. The older model, Xiaomi Smart Standing Fan 2 Pro, which we tested, can currently be purchased for a similar amount, but it does not offer power bank charging or a slim design.

The price of 2,999 CZK seems reasonable to me given the features. For this amount, you get a fan with smart functions, integration into the Xiaomi Home ecosystem, and universal power options, which you won’t find in classic standing models in this price category. However, it’s important to realize that 90° horizontal oscillation is rather standard, and a range of 180° or more would be better for covering a truly large room. So, if you primarily need a fan for a large living room and portability doesn’t interest you, an older model with a wider oscillation range might make more sense.

On the other hand, those who travel a lot, occasionally go camping, or want to use the fan in the garden or on the balcony, will get a device with the Mijia Smart Standing Fan Pro Slim that they won’t tire of quickly.

Would you appreciate the option of powering a fan from a power bank?
