You want chicken wings crispy, but broccoli just lightly steamed. Most air fryers can only do the former well. That’s why Xiaomi added a water tank and a steam mode to its new product. On Alza, the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7 l now costs 3,359 CZK instead of 4,199 CZK as part of the Black Friday sale, so you save 840 CZK.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense for families who want to fry without oil, steam, and reheat pastries in one appliance.
⚠️ Consider the dimensions of 40 × 30 × 37 cm and weight of 7.8 kg; it might not fit on a small counter.
💡 At 3,359 CZK, it’s 840 CZK cheaper than Alza has sold it for until now.

It still cost 4,199 CZK on Alza until now

The air fryer has been on the market for a short time; it only started selling in the Czech Republic in October, and Xiaomi still lists it as a new product on its website. The manufacturer then stated a recommended price of 4,499 CZK, but Alza sold it cheaper. According to Hlídač Shopů data, it has cost **4,199 CZK** without interruption until now. The 840 CZK discount therefore corresponds to **exactly 20%**, and the air fryer has not dropped lower on Alza during the entire monitoring period. At the time of writing, the official Czech Xiaomi e-shop also offers it for the same 3,359 CZK.

The 1.5-liter water tank lasts for approximately 90 minutes of steam

The main difference compared to a regular air fryer is the 1.5-liter water tank, which sits on top. According to Xiaomi, 130 °C steam stays inside the basket, and condensed water circulates internally, so you don’t need any condensate container. The manufacturer states that one fill lasts for approximately 90 minutes of operation. According to their calculation, this is enough for two servings of root vegetables and five servings of broccoli. For longer steaming, you will need to refill the water.

Steam and hot air can be combined. Xiaomi promises that steam will keep juices inside while hot air provides a crispy surface. Steam can also be used for reheating, for example, yesterday’s pastries, which would otherwise dry out with hot air alone. According to the manufacturer, they will remain moist inside and crispy on top.

It offers a total of 10 functions: hot air frying, steaming, combination of both, baking, sous vide, maximum crispiness, fermentation, drying, defrosting, and reheating. You can set the temperature from 30 to 230 °C, and there are 25 preset recipes available on the LCD display and over a hundred more in the Xiaomi Home app.

A whole chicken fits into the 7-liter basket

The basket has a volume of 7 liters. Xiaomi states that it can fit a whole chicken, 800 g of fries, or 24 chicken wings. A rack is also included, allowing you to cook in two layers. However, it’s still one basket, so you cannot prepare two different dishes at different temperatures simultaneously; only air fryers with two baskets, like the double-decker Xiaomi Dual Zone, can do that.

You can monitor the cooking process through a 7-inch window, so you don’t have to pull out the basket. If you pull it out, the air fryer stops automatically, allowing you to add ingredients calmly. After cooking, it can keep food warm for another 30 minutes. The interior is made of 304 stainless steel, and the non-stick surface is PFAS-free, according to the manufacturer. The total power consumption is 1,850 W, and the steam system has a power of 900 W, according to Xiaomi.

Who it’s worth it for and when to choose another one

The air fryer makes sense mainly for families who cook for five or more people (as stated by Alza) and want to get rid of their steamer from the counter. It will also be useful for anyone who frequently reheats pastries or leftovers and doesn’t want them to dry out. However, people who only need fries and schnitzels for one or two will unnecessarily overpay for the steam mode. For them, smaller classic air fryers are cheaper. Owners of small kitchens should also consider this: a height of over 40 cm and a weight of 7.8 kg make it an appliance you’ll likely leave on the counter rather than storing in a cabinet.

For those who were planning to buy it, at 3,359 CZK, it’s now the cheapest Alza offers it for. Just be prepared that without other customer reviews, you’re buying a bit blindly.

Would you swap your steamer for an air fryer that can also steam?
