Xiaomi unveiled a new 4K monitor with a great price tag. It has 120 Hz by default, but can offer up to 240 Hz

In addition to constantly expanding its presence in the smart home segment, Xiaomi occasionally introduces a new smart monitor. Now, the Chinese manufacturer has unveiled the Redmi A27U 2027 model, which combines a 27″ 4K panel, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and full-featured USB-C, starting at 1,699 yuan, which is approximately 5,300 Czech crowns when converted, in China.

At its core is a 27-inch IPS panel with a native 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels). More interesting, however, is the dual refresh rate mode: at full resolution, the monitor can handle 120 Hz, but with a single switch, you jump to Full HD at 240 Hz. This will be especially appreciated by players of competitive shooters. Xiaomi states the panel’s native contrast at 1500:1.

Pro-level colors and an anti-glare matte layer

Xiaomi promises 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3 color space coverage, as well as the display of 1.07 billion colors. Additionally, according to the manufacturer, each unit undergoes factory calibration with a color deviation ΔE of less than 1, meaning it should be accurate right out of the box. Those who work with photos or videos will appreciate the precise colors. An M mode has also been added, which aligns the image with the color profile of Apple devices.

Brightness reaches a typical 400 nits, and the display carries basic DisplayHDR 400 certification. To combat glare, the brand has applied a matte finish that reduces reflectivity to as low as 2.6% – useful near a window or in a brightly lit room where a typical glossy panel can be dazzling.

USB-C charging, plenty of ports, and an adjustable stand

A pleasant bonus is the multifunctional USB-C, which can charge connected devices with up to 90W of power. With a single cable, you can transfer video and data while simultaneously charging a laptop, for example – reducing cable clutter on your desk. The monitor also functions as a USB hub, so you can plug your keyboard or mouse directly into it.

Other connectors listed by the manufacturer include two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, two USB 2.0 ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Xiaomi considers eye comfort with hardware-level blue light reduction and DC dimming across the entire brightness range, which suppresses backlight flickering.

In terms of design, the new model features thin bezels on three sides and an included stand that allows for height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot to portrait mode. For those who prefer a clean desk, the display can also be mounted on a wall via a VESA mount.

Price and Availability

In China, the Redmi A27U 2027 is available for pre-sale at an introductory price of 1,699 yuan, which is approximately 5,300 Czech crowns when converted. For a 4K monitor with 120 Hz and 90W USB-C, this is a very favorable amount.

However, the new product is currently aimed exclusively at the domestic Chinese market, and there is no mention of availability in the Czech Republic or a European price yet. Only time will tell if the monitor will make its way here at all.
