Looking for a powerful and lightweight laptop for work at a reasonable price? The HP ProBook 4 G1a 16 now costs 19 967 Kč with code ALZADNY15 instead of the previous 23 490 Kč (and original 26 990 Kč). For that money, it offers surprisingly good value – let’s look at what it can do and where it has limitations.

Quick Summary:
Is a good choice if you want a fast and lightweight laptop for office, multitasking, and development with a large amount of RAM and all-day battery life.
⚠️ Consider that the display is weaker (300 nits, low color coverage), the graphics can only handle undemanding games, and USB4/Thunderbolt are missing.
💡 For 19 967 Kč with code ALZADNY15 you get Ryzen 7, 32GB DDR5, and 512GB SSD – excellent value for a work machine.

Lots of performance and memory for 19 967 Kč

At its heart is an AMD Ryzen 7 250 with eight cores and sixteen threads, which, according to reviews, outperforms even the older Intel Core Ultra 7 165U in terms of performance in most tests. In addition, a generous 32 GB DDR5 and 512GB SSD, all-day battery life of around 12 hours, and a weight of only 1.75 kg. A big plus is the rich connectivity (USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45) and upgradeable memory. A Czech owner highlights it as ideal for software development – Ryzen 7 and ample RAM can smoothly handle multiple IDEs simultaneously, an emulator, and fast compilation, and also praises good Ubuntu support.

Caveats

The main compromise is the display: 300 nits brightness and only around 62.5% sRGB coverage means it’s fine for office work, but it’s not suitable for color-sensitive work or direct sunlight. The integrated Radeon 780M graphics can handle media and only undemanding games. Also missing are USB4 and Thunderbolt. Beware of “AI” marketing: The NPU has 16 TOPS (around 38 TOPS total), which is below the 40 TOPS threshold for Copilot+ certification – so it’s AI-capable, but not a full-fledged “AI” laptop. And it comes with Windows 11.

For office, multitasking, study, and development, it’s a great choice for under 20 thousand with ample RAM and decent battery life. Those who need a color-accurate display, Thunderbolt, or powerful AI/graphics should expect a higher budget or opt for a MacBook Air.

Are you mainly looking for performance and RAM for work, or do you also care about display quality?
