Alza discounted the waterproof Sencor speaker by half. It hasn't been cheaper all year, and people praise its sound

A small speaker for the bathroom, a cottage, or as a small gift under the Christmas tree is best sought right now. As part of Black Friday, Alza has slashed the price of the popular Sencor Sirius 2 Mini speaker, and you can now get the olive variant for 449 CZK instead of 899 CZK. According to HlídačShopů, it hasn’t been this cheap in the last year.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you want a small speaker that doesn’t mind water in the shower or rain in the garden.
⚠️ Consider that it’s a compact model – anyone expecting powerful bass for a bigger party should opt for its larger sibling.
💡 For 449 CZK, you get a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 80 customers and the lowest price in the last year.

Fits in a backpack, withstands submersion

The Sirius 2 Mini measures approximately 11 × 9.5 × 9.4 centimeters and weighs 420 grams, so you can easily slip it into a backpack. According to Sencor, inside you’ll find two drivers complemented by two passive radiators, which are designed to help with bass, and a power output of 16 W. This is sufficient for a room, bathroom, or smaller terrace.

IPX7 rating means the speaker can handle even short submersion in water, so it should survive a fall into a bathtub or puddle. However, the letter X indicates that dust resistance was not tested – on the beach, it’s good to ensure sand doesn’t get into the ports.

The 2,500 mAh battery, according to the manufacturer, lasts up to 7 hours of playback at half volume. It charges via USB-C, and a full charge takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. Don’t expect a charger in the box; only a cable is included – but any phone adapter will suffice.

Plays from a memory card and pairs with another Sirius

In addition to Bluetooth 5.0, the speaker has a classic 3.5mm AUX input and a memory card slot. You can then play music from the card without a phone, which will be appreciated by seniors or those who want background music in their workshop without constant pairing. Thanks to the built-in microphone, it also serves as a hands-free device for calls.

The TWS function allows two speakers to be connected for stereo sound. However, it can only be paired with another model from the Sirius 2 series – according to Sencor, even with a different size, such as the larger Sirius 2 Maxi, about whose January discount we wrote. You cannot set up stereo with a speaker of a different brand.

The passive radiators on the sides also light up with colorful LED effects. Not everyone likes this, so it’s good to know that the backlight can be turned off – as can the power-on sound.

Customers praise the sound for the price

On Alza, the Sirius 2 Mini across all colors has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 80 customers, 89% of whom recommend it, and over 200 units have been sold. In 28 written reviews, it’s most frequently mentioned that the sound is above average for this price point, the speaker is compact, and it looks good. People also positively mention playing from a card.

However, some people complain that the sound is rather flat and the bass could be more pronounced. One customer reports a real battery life of around five to six hours, while another encountered Bluetooth connection dropouts. Another couldn’t figure out how to turn off the welcome sound, but according to other reviewers, it is possible.

For the bathroom and cottage, yes; for a garden party, no

For 449 CZK, the Sirius 2 Mini is a reasonable choice for anyone who wants a durable speaker for the bathroom, cottage, workshop, or dorm room. It also makes a good gift for children or a grandmother who wants to play music from a card without a mobile phone. The color variants (olive, black, blue, and pink) have separate listings, so check the price for the one you want.

However, anyone planning to sound a garden party or wanting truly rich bass will not be satisfied with the compact sixteen-watt model and should pay extra for a larger speaker. For casual listening in a smaller room, however, the Sencor for 449 CZK offers more than one would expect for less than five hundred crowns.
