More details about the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro have leaked. This time, the battery capacity was revealed

  • According to a leak, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to get a 5,000mAh battery, the same size as last year's Ultra.
  • Thanks to its smaller 6.47" display, the Pro could match or even surpass the more expensive Ultra in terms of battery life.
  • The larger cell reportedly fit into the compact body thanks to the omission of the S Pen.

Quite a lot of information about the Galaxy S27 Pro model has leaked in recent weeks, and gradually, from fragmented reports, a phone is emerging that could really shake things up. Samsung is apparently pursuing a strategy of a compact flagship with Ultra features, just without the S Pen stylus. The latest leak concerns the battery, and precisely because of it, the Pro is starting to look like a potentially more practical choice than its larger and likely more expensive sibling.

Same battery as in the Ultra

The information was brought by a leaker operating on the X network under the nickname kro. According to them, the Galaxy S27 Pro will get a cell with a capacity of 5,000 mAh. This is exactly how much the current Galaxy S26 Ultra offers, and in fact, every Ultra since the beginning of this series. For such a compact model, this is an above-average amount of energy.

It might even surpass the Ultra in battery life

Here’s the interesting part. According to leaks, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to have a 6.47″ display, which is a noticeably smaller area than the large Ultra. A smaller screen consumes less power, so even with the same capacity, the Pro could last longer in practice. The same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, which both phones reportedly share, should also help.

The catch is that Gizmochina recalls earlier reports about the Galaxy S27 Ultra itself. It was supposed to get a slightly larger battery in the range of 5,200 to 5,500 mAh. On paper, the Ultra should therefore have the upper hand, but the Pro’s smaller display can largely erase this difference.

The question remains how a larger battery will fit into a smaller body. The answer lies in the absence of the S Pen. The Ultra has to allocate a significant amount of space for it inside its design, while the Pro will reportedly omit the stylus. The freed-up space can thus be filled by the more voluminous cell.

If the leaks are confirmed, the Galaxy S27 Pro could be an attractive option for anyone who desires the Ultra’s features but is deterred by its size and price. Conversely, those who miss the S Pen or the best telephoto lens in the series will likely still opt for the full-fledged Ultra. The premiere is expected in February.

Would you trade a large Ultra for a smaller Pro that might last longer?
