A laptop that weighs less than a liter of water and yet features an OLED display with 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The ASUS Zenbook A14 now costs 16 490 Kč with code ALZADNY40 instead of 27 483 Kč – a discount of eleven thousand on a machine designed precisely for people who carry their laptop with them daily.

👍 Get it if you travel a lot and want a lightweight laptop with a beautiful display, long battery life, and quiet operation.
🤔 Hesitate if you use specific software – it runs on ARM architecture, where not all programs work equally well.
💰 Price: 16 490 Kč including a case, 16 GB memory, and 512GB SSD; add the adapter separately.

You simply won’t notice a kilo in your backpack

The weight of 0.98 kilograms is the main argument, and in practice, it means you practically don’t notice the laptop in your bag – the difference compared to a typical 14-inch laptop around 1.4 kg is significant for daily carrying. The body is made of metal and magnesium with MIL-STD-810H certification, so lightness doesn’t come at the expense of durability, and with a thickness of 15.9 mm, it will fit even in a smaller bag. Additionally, you get a case in the package, which is not common for laptops.

The display is the second strong point: a 14″ OLED with a resolution of 1920 × 1200, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 600 nits brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Blacks are perfect, colors are accurate, and TÜV Low Blue Light certification protects your eyes during long work sessions. The 70 Wh battery combined with the energy-efficient ARM chip means battery life you’re not used to with Windows laptops – and because the chip doesn’t heat up, you’ll practically not hear the fan.

The equipment matches a higher class: an octa-core Snapdragon X, 16 GB LPDDR5x, 512GB SSD on PCIe 4.0, and an NPU with 45 TOPS performance, which meets the requirements for Windows Copilot+ features. Connectivity consists of two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB 3.2, HDMI, and a jack, plus Wi-Fi 6E, a Full HD webcam, facial login via Windows Hello, and a backlit Czech keyboard.

Windows on ARM has its caveats

Snapdragon means ARM architecture, not classic x86 – and that’s something you need to know beforehand. Office, browsers, communication applications, and most common software now run natively and fast, but for specialized programs, older applications, or some VPN clients, it’s worth checking compatibility. This laptop is definitely not for playing modern games – the integrated Adreno graphics are designed for efficiency, not performance.

Although the display has an OLED panel, it only runs at 60 Hz and is glossy, so expect reflections near a window. And factor in a charging adapter (45 to 65 W via USB-C) into your budget, as it’s not included in the package – if you have a more powerful GaN phone charger, that will suffice.

Bonus at the end: ASUS provides one year of accidental damage protection for free after registration. For 16 490 Kč, this is one of the best travel laptops you can buy right now – lightweight, quiet, with a beautiful display and battery life that you won’t find in x86 machines at this price.

Is weight crucial for you in a laptop, or would you rather sacrifice a few hundred grams for performance?
