We hinted yesterday that Xiaomi is pushing its T series to market at a record pace this time, when the 17T appeared in the Geekbench database. Instead of the September release, which has been a tradition for this series for many years, both phones are set to go on sale in May. And now, news has arrived confirming that Xiaomi is serious about this rush. The well-known leaker billbil-kun, who has built a reputation as a reliable source of pre-release leaks in the past, has published the complete specifications and European prices of both models via the Dealabs server. And it makes for reading that will especially please those who value endurance.

Xiaomi 17T: slightly smaller, but with a battery we haven’t seen before

The base model will get a 6.59″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2756×1268 pixels (460 ppi) and a 120Hz refresh rate. Compared to last year’s 15T with a 6.83″ panel, Xiaomi has slightly reduced the dimensions – the new model measures 157.6 × 75.2 × 8.17 mm and weighs 200 grams, so it should fit smaller hands better.

Power will be provided by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process. It is accompanied by 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage in 256 or 512 GB variants. This is predictable upper-mid-range equipment that simply cannot compare with flagship processors – as recent Geekbench results have confirmed.

However, the most prominent feature of the 17T’s specifications is the 6,500 mAh battery, which represents a significant leap compared to last year’s 5,500 mAh. The catch is that the wired charging speed is expected to be 67 W – paradoxically less than what the 15T offered with 90W charging. Wireless charging is completely absent from the base model.

The camera setup features the Leica brand and consists of a trio of sensors. The main 50Mpx Light Fusion 800 with an f/1.77 aperture is complemented by a 50Mpx telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and a 12Mpx ultrawide lens. This will be an improvement, as the Xiaomi 15T only offered 2x optical zoom. The selfie camera will be 32Mpx. Connectivity highlights include Wi-Fi 6E and NFC, and the phone will run on Android 16 with the HyperOS overlay.

Xiaomi 17T Pro: 7,000 mAh, 100W charging, and a flagship chip

The Pro version raises the bar in all key areas. It will start with a 6.83″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772×1280 pixels and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The phone’s body will measure 162.2 × 77.5 × 8.25 mm and weigh 219 grams.

Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, built on the 3nm N3P process, will be ticking, which is among the new generation of flagship chipsets. The maximum clock speed of the most powerful core reaches 4.21 GHz. RAM is 12 GB LPDDR5X, and storage is 512 GB in UFS 4.1 standard.

The battery will increase to an impressive 7,000 mAh, and 100W wired and 50W wireless charging are expected to be available. Last year’s 15T Pro offered 90W wired charging, so this is a welcome, though not groundbreaking, upgrade. The main camera uses a better 50Mpx Light Fusion 950 sensor with an f/1.74 aperture; the rest of the setup remains the same as the base model. Connectivity is a step further with Wi-Fi 7 support.

Price in Europe is rising, but Xiaomi has reasons to justify it

The price table published by billbil-kun looks like this:

  • Xiaomi 17T (12 GB + 256 GB) – 749 euros (approx. 18,300 CZK converted)
  • Xiaomi 17T (12 GB + 512 GB) – expected between 799 and 849 euros (range from 19,500 CZK to 20,700 CZK converted)
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro (12 GB + 512 GB) – 999 euros (approx. 24,400 CZK converted)

Compared to last year’s generation, the starting price for both models has shifted up by roughly 100 euros. Seemingly, there’s no chance that the Xiaomi 17T would cost only 12,499 CZK in an introductory offer, as it did last year, and the Pro model only 15,499 CZK. For the cheaper of the two, we might pay approximately 15,000 CZK at launch, while the more expensive one will probably start somewhere around 18,000 to 19,000 CZK.

Is it worth waiting? Czech prices will decide

If you’re planning to get a lower-tier flagship, the 17T Pro will seem like a logical choice – the combination of a 7,000mAh battery, 100W charging, and Dimensity 9500 is rarely seen outside the 20,000 CZK and higher price range. The question, however, will be how Xiaomi sets prices in our market, to prevent a situation where both models are overshadowed by, for example, last year’s flagship models that have already dropped in price since their launch.

The exact release date is not yet confirmed, but we should expect the official unveiling in the coming weeks.
