Will 2027 belong to wide foldable phones? Another one with top-tier parameters is in preparation

It seems that Huawei, with its, at first glance somewhat peculiar, foldable model Pura X, hit the nail on the head. According to numerous reports, Apple itself is also expected to use a similar screen format for its first foldable model. It will probably surprise few that Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers have also started working on a similar solution. Whether it’s for the interesting possibilities of using such a design or simply because Apple sets trends, it seems that the end of this year and the beginning of 2027 will belong to wide foldable phones.

More and more manufacturers believe in wide foldable phones

Information about wide-display foldable phones, expected to arrive this year, is spreading across the internet from reliable sources. Specifically, fans of Apple, Samsung, and Oppo can look forward to them. In addition, other manufacturers are also working on similarly designed smartphones. According to the reliable and many times verified leaker Digital Chat Station, we should expect another new device with a 5.5″ outer and 7.6″ inner, foldable display.

The performance of the new device should be handled by a chipset from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series – specifically, either the 8 Elite Gen 6 or the 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The new device is expected to arrive sometime in the first quarter of next year. What the leaker has not yet revealed, however, is which other manufacturer intends to start focusing on wide foldable phones. The most frequently mentioned brands in this case are Honor and Vivo. But whoever it turns out to be, one thing is already practically clear – we can look forward to another revitalization of the foldable smartphone market.
