Working while standing is one of the few things every physiotherapist will recommend for computer users – and for years, adjustable desks were considered expensive equipment. Four positions at a touch

The desk electrically lifts from 71.5 to 116 centimeters, which covers both sitting and standing work for most body types, and the frame width is adjustable from 90.9 to 145.8 cm depending on the desktop you choose. Key is the memory for four positions – you set your sitting and standing heights and then just press a button, no fine-tuning every time. The panel has a display showing the current height in centimeters. Safety is handled by an anti-collision system, which stops the desk if it encounters an obstacle (such as a cabinet or a child’s hand), and motor overheat protection.

The steel construction with two two-segment legs can support 80 kg, has leveling feet for uneven floors, and two hooks for hanging headphones or a bag. A compromise to expect at this price

The most important thing is the aforementioned missing desktop – a 120 × 80 cm laminate desktop costs roughly 1,900 CZK, so the real price of a complete desk is around five thousand. However, it’s still significantly less than ready-made adjustable desks, and you have the freedom to choose the material and dimensions. The second thing is the single motor: more expensive desks have two and lift faster and more smoothly; here, the movement is slower, and you’ll notice it with higher loads. And the 80 kg load capacity is sufficient for a standard setup, but anyone with three monitors and a heavy gaming PC case on the desk should look higher.

As a first adjustable desk for a home office, at 3,239 CZK, it’s a reasonable investment in your own back – just don’t forget to factor in the desktop in your budget.
